Weekend in Nafplio

With temperatures reaching 43 degrees we decided to flee athens for the weekend and head towards the sea. At first we were thinking of going en route to the Kalamata coast, but as it involved 4:30 hr drive we opted to finding something closer. Everyone has been talking about the new Amman in Porto Heli, but unfortunately when we called we found out it’s still closed up to public. I remembered Milly mentioning having been to Nafplio, so we did some research and found the Nafplia Palace Hotel & Villas. Exactly what we were looking for: Overlooking the sea, surrounded in culture, and lux without exceeding prices = PERFECT.
In the next post I will write a review of the hotel, for the time being here is a Photo-RECAP of the weekend :)
A bit of History: NAfplio was the first capital of modern Greece, from the start of the Greek Revolution in 1821 until 1834.The area surrounding Nafplion has been inhabited since ancient times though little sign of this remains within the town. The town has been a stronghold at several times in history
